If you ever find that this is the only place open and your belly is in need of a filling, let’s just say I hope your job pays more than mine does.

That aside, Wagamama sells plenty of vegetarian food, and a fair few choices are also vegan.

It is situated on Edgbaston street, at the bottom of the hill that leads you up to the top of the Bull ring. Open Mon-Fri 12-11pm, Sat 11am-11pm and Sun 12-10pm. Call ’em on 633 3033 if needs be.

Their website lists the ingredients to various dishes on their menu, and there is a dietary information page which lists what is vegan:

Side dishes: grilled asparagus; edamame; raw salad; miso soup and pickles

Noodles: saien soba**, yasai chilli men**; yasai itame; yasai yaki soba***; mini ramen vegetarian on rice noodles;

Salads: yasai natsubi salad;

Rice: yasai cha han*;

Extras: chillies, pickles, rice, noodles.

* ask for this without egg, which would make it vegan

** vegan when served on rice noodles – ask.

***both of the above.
